We started this initiative in 2015 as a part of the Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan of the Government of Maharashtra to combat the drought Maharashtra had experienced in 40 years. We have continued our efforts in villages that are in rain shadow regions and adopted a comprehensive watershed development approach. In FY 2017, we reached out to 3 villages, covering 2125 hectares of land and benefiting 4,125 farmers.
